The team from the City Health Office (CHO) led by Medical Specialist II Dr. Mary Genevieve Montaño, had their dengue awareness campaign at Colegio de Sta. Rita (CSR) de San Carlos in Barangay I yesterday, Feb. 20.

At least 67 faculty members and staff of CSR and students attended the continuous dengue awareness of Team Lamok led by Dr. Montaño. Other CHO representatives including Sanitary Inspector and HEPO Designate Dennis Villasor, and Sanitary Inspector Ray Marabillo of CHO oriented the attendees about the kinds of mosquitoes that are dengue virus carriers, Dengue virus transfusion, consequences of dengue virus infection, the life cycle of mosquitoes, and the 5S Diskarte Kontra Dengue program, search and destroy, self-protection measures, seek early consultation, say yes to misting, and sustain hydration.

On the other hand, Liga ng mga Barangay President Alfredo Martin A. Cui who was also with the group said that the community should help the local government in its preventive measures against dengue since cases are increasing.

Before the orientation, Team Lamok conducted an entomological survey within the CSR vicinity.

Alternate Dengue Coordinator and Sanitation Inspector I Marc Edchelle Lipa said they would inform the school of the survey results before the clean-up drive activity.

Sister Ma. Marcela A. Dela Cruz, Sr. Cleofe Maria J. Agua, Sr. Teresita I. Diane, and selected college students were also there.
