The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-San Carlos held a bloodletting activity today, March 15, at Brgy. IV Hall.

The event is in line with the observance of 2024 Fire Prevention Month where Sancarloseños, personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine National Police-San Carlos, Local Government Unit, Philippine Coast Guard, Brgy. IV officials and college students donated blood.

BFP-SCC FO2 Maria Richelle Lovely A. Cañuto said the activity aimed at helping the community by donating a supply of blood; adding that every drop of blood counts; targeting to have at least 100 donors.

She cited the donors also underwent necessary screening procedures before blood extractions; blood extracted will be sent to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Cañuto, and Brgy. IV Punong Barangay Brando Ortega also thanked the donors.

Joselito Rusia, a 44 year-old resident of Brgy. 3 said he was happy to donate blood and help people in dire need of it.

He shared that he had been donating blood since 2010 and encouraged everyone to do so to save lives.

Said activity is in partnership with Brgy. IV and San Carlos City Primary Care Facility.
