The Philippine National Police (PNP) San Carlos ended their Police Community Relations (PCR) month with a 5KM Fun Run early this morning, July 31.

At least 342 runners from the PNP, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), local government units, and other running enthusiasts in San Carlos City participated in the event themed “Dalagan para sa ikaayong lawas kag palayo sa droga,” in partnership with Team Ewit, Team Bagat, and UNILAB.

Runners’ route started from San Carlos City Police Station to Boulevard, S-Carmona St., Ylagan St., Locsin St., V. Gustilo St., Azcona St., then back to the station.

Deputy Chief of Police for Operations Police Capt. Honey Labaro said they collected a registration fee of P100 from each participant for PNP’s “Tabang alang sa mga kabus nga nagkinahanglan” program; aimed at providing groceries to selected vulnerable communities.

He thanked the LGU-San Carlos and all participants for making the event a success and the Almighty Father for zero injuries. Meanwhile, in the 5k Uniform Male category, NUP Art Marie Compas was 1st place followed by FOI Jaylou Meggalen and PCPT. Labaro, who claimed 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

NUP Annie Mae P. Jumawan, JOI Ketih R. Pagulayan, and FOI Zenny Zapa were the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placers in the Uniform Female Category. In the Civilian Male category, Jemar Magdalino was the 1st place winner; Ralp Niño Latigo, 2nd place; and MJ Maldeguia, 3rd place.

Stephanie Cadosale, Marialyn Pantallano, and Nadie Agudo dominated in the Civilian Female category and bagged the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place spots, respectively.

Special awards were also presented to the youngest runner, six-year-old Bleszamel Delima; oldest runner, 53-year-old Niño Broce; and barefoot runners, Kino Miguel C Broce, Jemuel Cantiga, Jairus Ortega, and John Harold Ortega.

The top three winners received cash prizes, medals, grocery items, and certificates; the top 4-10 runners and special awardees were given certificates and grocery items.
