The local government of San Carlos City officially awarded two certificates of land ownership to the beneficiaries of its homelot program this afternoon, Dec. 9, at the City Administrator’s Office.
City Administrator Estefanio S. Libutan Jr. and City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Magnolia B. Antonio personally presented the certificates to Mark Joseph Canson, a resident of Barangay Rizal.
Canson also received the certificate on behalf of his brother, Mark Ryan Stephen Raymond Canson, another recipient of the program.
The certificates were granted after the beneficiaries fully paid for their 54-square meter lots in Fatima Village, Barangay Rizal.
Mark Joseph Canson said they started paying for the lots in 1994 at P5.00 per day, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
Engr. Antonio reminded the beneficiaries that they can only transfer certificates of land ownership to heirs and that the government prohibits them from selling or leasing the land obtained through the city’s homelot program. San Carlos City Integrated Housing Authority assisted with the turnover of certificates.
