The newly elected federation officers of Barangay Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Desk Officers and the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) child representatives in San Carlos City took their oath of office before Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo today, Jan. 15, at the City Mayor’s Office.

Barangay VAWC Desk Federation Officers for 2025-2027 include:

President: Teresita Genzola of Barangay Five Vice President: Nenita Cabatas of Barangay Two Secretary: Cristina Tillo of Barangay Buluangan Treasurer: Landine Cañabano of Barangay Bagonbon Auditor: Rachel Navarro of Barangay Rizal PIO: Lilibeth Estimar of Barangay Four and Jonalyn Paran of Barangay Nataban

Meanwhile, the officers for the Federation of BCPC Child Representatives for 2025-2027 are: President: Denissa Ashley A. Espinosa of Barangay Buluangan Vice President: Aljuana Mae C. Diala of Barangay San Juan Secretary: Jhean Rose Tranilla of Barangay Prosperidad Treasurer: Yljan Rio R. Cultura of Barangay Two Auditor: Kesha Mori of Barangay Six PIO: Luscious Eureka F. Abadies of Barangay Punao and Kissy Mae C. Genzola of Barangay Five

City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Social Welfare Officer II Lavern T. Rigor told the officers the importance of their roles, noting that Barangay VAWC Desk Officers serve as the frontline service providers to victims-survivors of various forms of abuse, including physical, sexual, psychological, and economic violence.

She added that BCPC child representatives who are between 10-15 years old would also serve as the voices of children in their respective barangays for their rights and protection.

The CSWDO facilitated the oath-taking ceremony attended by CSWD-OIC Edena Dagondon.
