The National Nutrition Council (NNC)-Region 6 through its Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) will assess and monitor the nutritional program of Barangay San Juan in Sipaway Island from May 9 to 10.

RNET leader PDO I Mari Blithe Soliva with San Carlos City Nutrition Officer Rowena Itabag and Barangay III Nutrition Scholar Josephine Dela Torre discussed the activity with City Mayor Renato Gustilo this morning, May 9 at his office.

Soliva said they would conduct a desk review and assess the malnutrition rate and program implementation; adding that after evaluation they would present the results and recommendations to provide technical assistance to the city.

On the other hand, Itabag shared that San Juan was chosen among the 18 barangays in the city because of its outstanding performance and functionality in terms of their nutrition program; the city will also undergo the same process after the evaluation of the barangay.

Mayor Renato hoped that malnutrition in the city would decrease with the help of the local nutrition council.
