The city government of San Carlos awarded the Charter Skills Competition winners yesterday afternoon, July 15, at the city auditorium.
San Carlos City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Mariel Avenir, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Negros Occidental Director Niña Connie Dodd, Regional Training Center- Talisay City Specialist Eudina David led the awarding of winners in logo design (on-site), video-making (tourism video), cake decorating, flair bartending, nail art, hair & make-up competitions.
Winners received prizes ranging from P2,000 to P7,000, medals, and certificates.
Representatives of Colegio de Sta. Rita de San Carlos dominated multi-media video editing with Rhexys Fernandez, Czar Proe Alegrado, and Alea K. Calinawagan as first-place winners. The trio, Christopher Ponting, Romel Pasilan, and Christopher Villarante were second-place winners.
In flair-bartending, Noel L. Mole of Central Philippine State University (CPSU) was first place; Jonh Rey Esponilla of Mr. C, second place; and Michelle B. Barquin of CPSU, third place.
Lorenzena Samillano and Christian Rabaca were the 1st and 2nd place winners in cake decorating.
Logo-making winners include Rhaey Louise Apatan of CSR, first place winner; Rave Erl Savilleno of CPSU, second place winner; and Amelita Dela Torre of CPSU, third place.
Jenie Rose Baritua, Froilene Lucy Canoy, and Jennifer Desucatan were the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the nail art competition.
Fernando Cordova Jr. of CPSU impressed judges with his skills in the hair and make-up competition and won first place.
Aldrian Tumbaga of CPSU and freelancer Juleiste Marino were the 2nd and 3rd place winners.
PESO Manager Avenir said the competition aimed at recognizing local skills who will represent the city at the Panaad sa Negros Livelihood Skills Competition in April 2025.
City Mayor Renato Gustilo, SP Member Victoriana C. Cabili, SK Federation President Marydawn P. Cañetan, and Executive Assistant Pocholo Yuvienco were present during the awarding.
Information Technology and Computer Services Office and BFP personnel also assisted during the skills competition.
