The Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD) Field Office VI launched the Ayuda para sa Kapos Ang Kita Program (AKAP) by distributing the financial assistance to the 1st batch of AKAP beneficiaries today, May 18, at Brgy. 1 covered court.

At least 1,000 beneficiaries of the 18 barangays of San Carlos City received P3,000 from the AKAP program initiated by the Office of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and DSWD.

Jessie Vierneza, Supervising Political Affairs Officer of the Office of the 1st District Rep. Gerardo Valmayor Jr., said the AKAP program provides financial assistance to individuals earners with below minimum wage under the category of low income that are severely affected by inflation.

Vernieza shared that 4P’s members and social pensioners of the DSWD are exempted from such since only employees of the barangays including barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars, barangay tanods, and other casuals are to receive the assistance since their earnings were below minimum.

Brgy. 1 Hall job-order employee Judily Layon said she was thankful for the financial assistance since they were also affected by the increased price of basic goods; thanking the DSWD, President Marcos, House Speaker Romualdez, and 1st District Rep. Valmayor for the program.
