At least five residents in San Carlos City received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region VI under the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa program this afternoon, March 25.

Said beneficiaries are the last batch to receive such assistance and they came from Brgy. Palampas including Rosemarie Alvaren, Maria Silvano, Lani Silvano, Fernando Alota and Mary Ann Pasulot.

The distribution took place at the City Mayor’s Office with Acting City Mayor and SP Member Benito Gustilo Jr. and DSWD Region 6 SWO III Elna Academia, Financial Analyst Ana Marie Bulaqueña, Project Development Officer II Ranelly Guadalupe handing over the amount of P90,300 to the beneficiaries as a livelihood settlement grant.

Academia said these beneficiaries had previously been employed in Metro Manila but relocated back to their hometowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the amount they received was determined according to the assessments made by the DSWD; hoped they would use the assistance wisely in their daily family expenses.

Guadalupe explained that the amount they received was based on the number of family members they have; adding that they can avail additional assistance from DSWD with the help of their local office.

City Social Welfare and Development Office staff assisted during the said turnover.
