The junior high school students of Nataban Integrated School pledged to avoid illegal drugs after they underwent the Drug Abuse and Prevention Symposium yesterday, Jan. 18.

Grade 9 students John Noah Mancao and Mary Jean Verano were among the 45 grade 9 and 10 students who attended the symposium. They thanked the San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC) members for educating them about how illegal drugs affect dreams and lives.

Bantay Kontra Droga (BKD) Coordinator Mary Jan Pasinabo was happy and hoped the students would rightfully decide to have a better future.

SCCADAC facilitated the activity where some facilitators shared testimonies about their experience with illegal drugs and how it pushed them to do bad things and quit school.

SCCADAC Secretariat Ana Liza S. Macaraya and Facilitator Renbert de Leon tackled Republic Act No. 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and the kinds and ill effects of drugs.
